What do The Hundreds, NBA and Adidas skateboarding all have in common? Well they now have a sneaker. In some weird uncomfortable three-way love triangle they have produced what appears to be a very clean crisp sneaker. Coming in two different colour ways “Lakers” and “Nets”, these kicks pay homage to both the Los Angles Lakers and the Brooklyn Nets.
The ‘Lakers’ version stars a charcoal, purple and yellow colour way. These sneakers feature a charcoal based suede and leather upper situated above a gum outsole with purple and gold deposits throughout. For the ‘Nets’ edition they feature clean accents black and white colour way right through. Similar to the ‘Lakers’ pair, they feature both a suede and leather upper. A unique clean white stripe is tapered around the heel, breaking up the main body of the sneaker. In bold black letters ‘Brooklyn’ has been printed on the back of the sneaker, one of the five New York cities that make up he notorious Bronx.
Unfortunately given the nature of the collaboration there was always going to be an overkill of brand names lathered throughout. Dual branding seen along the perforated toe box and insoles, which in the scheme of things isn’t terrible but definitely something that for some sneak fans could be an instant turn off. In a almost primary school throwback there is even a section on the insole to write your name and number for the respective team.
For those wanting to get the entire look a wide variety of apparel such as jerseys, shirts and hoodies will be released alongside the sneakers in partnership with the NBA. If you’re a Lakers fan still in denial about Kobe Bryant sexual assaulting that girl these sneakers are for you. Alternatively, if you are a Nets fan who still has no idea why Kris Humphries married that piece of shit Kim Kardashian, even though it was only 72 days, these kicks are also for you. If you are a NBA fan, these shoes are for you. If you like skating, these shoes are for you. To be honest its hard to find a reason why anyone wouldn’t want these kicks so make sure you snag yourself a pair at the exclusive online release on October 1st!

Purchase from: Select Nike retailers and “Size?”
The Nike Air Max 94 is not a sneaker we commonly see rocked. Overlooked by its younger brother the 95, the 94 silhouettes do not see a lot of praise. But this is all about to change now the Size? Have managed to score exclusive rights on some of Nikes prestigious retro models. In anticipation of the seasonal weather changed, Nike has produced two colour ways that you can rock this fall/autumn or spring depending where you live in the world.
Both colour ways of the Nike Air Max 94 will be constructed of soft suede uppers accompanied by the mesh found in the toe box and side panels. One pair will come in a tonal grey offering while the second pair opts to come in a tan upper. Both sneakers feature black hits seen on the tongue, laces and lining. The black midsoles come speckled and equipped with the 180-degree Air Max cushioning for both comfort and durability.
As a whole I’m not entirely stoked with these sneakers but can appreciate the resurrection of the 94 silhouettes. With its precursor the 93 receiving a fair amount of hype and its predecessor the 95 straight killing it for over 15 years it was always going to be difficult for the 94 to come out with a bang. It will be interesting to see how sneaker heads worldwide react to this drop, as I have no doubt it will divide many people. Regardless if you are an avid Nike fan I would recommend scoring yourself a pair of these distinctive 94’s!

New Balance has teamed up with the notorious Louisiana based Sneaker Politics to produce yet another unique sneaker collaboration. Taking inspiration from blue light police work and the many unsolved homicide mysterious seen throughout America, these sneakers aim to bring about deeper awareness of the rapidly rising crime rates. In a media release Sneaker Politics said “These shoes pay tribute to all of those resilient individuals on the side of the law that spend tireless days, months, and even years trying to crack these cases, but to no avail”. Some sneaker heads have even suggested that kicks have gained inspiration from the store’s home of Louisiana and the TV series True Detective (season one > season two).
The New Balance Case 999’s feature a plush upper of deep navy suede in the main punctuated with tan leather accents on the top line, vamp, heel counter and around the lining leading into the inner. This shoe aims to bring together all the colours and materials used throughout the Louisiana Detective Force uniform.

With sneakers becoming more and more technical Nike have once again stepped up the game to reinvent the iconic silhouette of the Huarache. For sneaker heads worldwide this is a common trend we are seeing with most major sneaker retailers revamping old silhouettes and turning them into technical pieces of deliciousness. While some have turned out well, more notably some of the adidas Y-3 models, some have turned out awful. But as a whole Nike have done well in turning the every changing Huarache into its next evolution.
The Huarache Utility takes the OG heel cage and neoprene mesh slip on aesthetic to task but adds certain tech elements like dynamic Flywire, 3M perforations, and even an iridescent mudguard to task here, thus upping the model’s modern day credibility while still keeping the retro flare intact. These sneakers also feature clean black foam midsole for a soft and responsive step whilst also a durable Nike air unit throughout the heel that cushions every step. These Huaraches are finished off with a sticky rubber waffle-inspired outsole for traction and sturdiness.
Now I know what you are probably thinking, triple black/white huaraches? They’re have been done before and will get done again, why should I invest in these sneakers? The answer is because these are not ordinary pair of huaraches, these are game changing Huaraches. These are those huaraches that every kid in your neighborhood will want to cop.
With the Huarache arguably in its peak it is time for you to secure yourself a pair of these very cool and very technical sneakers. When purchasing these kicks remember that they fit true to size unlike most other Huaraches variations. If you miss out on the initial drop do not despair because both the triple white and black colour ways will be restocked. If you want to move away from the timeless triple black/white combination Nike have confirmed a variety of new colour ways dropping within a matter of weeks from the first release.
