Melbourne producer Emerson Long has announced himself on the electronic music block with his summery new track ‘Heatwave’ (see what I did there).
If I had to assign a matching Melbourne coffee to this tune I would say it’s a tasty latté made by your favourite hunk of a slightly too flirtatious barista. Hear me out:
- The shot of coffee (aka. the flavour) – with unique synthesizer sounds that remind me of Flume’s work, the components of this song all sound so good together that you know they belong but you’ve never really heard them before specifically.
- The milk (aka. its style) – ‘Heatwave’ combines pop vocal hooks and that relaxed summer house vibe that makes it something born for serious replaying. It’s not a exact fit in that genre but even better it’s definitely got an individual taste to it.
- The sugar (aka. the sweetener) – this guy only started teaching himself how to produce music when he was 21, up until which he’d barely touched a guitar. There’s a little inspiration for anyone wondering if it’s too late to become a gun.
